As part of the project, Banco Sabadell’s rental housing management company will carry out the marketing and administration of the assets that will begin to be delivered at the end of 2026
Sogeviso’s professional team will provide Lagoom Living with a comprehensive leasing service for more than 500 residential properties at below-market prices
The company has reached an agreement with the developer Lagoom Living to manage the residential rentals at affordable prices of the 530 homes that will be made available to the citizens of Malaga from 2026 in what will be the first smart city of VPO (subsidised housing) in Spain.
Specifically, Sogeviso will carry out the tasks of marketing, tenant management, administration and maintenance of the assets, as well as the socio-community intervention in the more than five hundred homes that will be offered to young people and middle-income customers in general at below-market rental prices.
The general manager of Sogeviso, Javier García del Río, emphasised the entity’s commitment to this unique smart city project by Lagoom Living, which “represents a further step in the responsible transformation of the housing market in our country by placing the citizen and sustainability as the cornerstone of the residential model”. As García del Río indicated, with this alliance, Sogeviso ” consolidates its leadership as the leading affordable housing management platform in terms of volume of projects under management”.
Lagoom Living’s CEO, Javier Braza, explained that for his “business philosophy it is a pleasure and a privilege to incorporate Sogeviso into the project”. “We already hold a leading position in the development of affordable housing in Andalusia, but the addition of an operating partner of Sogeviso’s quality helps to reinforce the excellence of our management model. According to him, “This type of professionalised social management collaboration within a long-term framework agreement provides the entire production cycle of the real estate development of quality housing for affordable rental with the umbrella of stability and legal and operational coverage for the tenant”, and he went on to say that “we are very proud to announce the Lagoom Living-Sogeviso synergy for the entire management of the portfolio in Andalusia, highlighting the established business plan of 2,500 units under management in 2024-26”
For Banco Sabadell Group, this alliance will allow the incorporation of the first affordable housing project in Andalusia into the portfolio of its subsidiary, while Lagoom Living will be able to benefit from a fully comprehensive service provided by Sogeviso’s professionals.
Lagoom Living secured a surface right in 2023 for the development and operation of affordable rental housing for 75 years, in a tender promoted by the Sociedad Municipal de Viviendas de Málaga, which is the owner of the land on which these homes will be developed. Considering the dynamism of the real estate market in the city of Malaga, the affordable housing projects developed by Lagoom Living are of particular importance. Lagoom Living will start construction work this July and is committed to delivering the first homes in December 2026.
